Distribution staff halt strikes

Workers at the Argos distribution centre in Bridgwater, Somerset, have decided to suspend further strikes while they consider a new pay deal.

Members of the union Unite walked out over plans to change their pay from weekly to monthly.

They said a 4% wage rise offered by the company would not cover the rising cost of living.

Now Argos bosses have come back with a new offer which union members will vote on next week.
