Naval aircraft will take to the skies at the Royal Navy Air Station (RNAS) International Air Day in Yeovilton.

The theme for the day is Maritime Air, to feature the role of naval aircraft in the past, present and future.

The USAF B-52 Bomber will make a first time appearance outside of the United States (US) in eight years during the five-hour flying display.

Vintage naval aircraft will feature the Fairey Swordfish, famed for its role in sinking the German battleship Bismarck.

The restored static displays of the Sopwith Pup and the BE2b, date back to the near beginnings of naval aviation.

There will also be modern military planes on show including the Typhoon, the RAF's latest combat aircraft.

The Commando Assault finale will feature Royal Navy helicopters and aircrew recently deployed from duty in Afghanistan or Iraq.
