Man charged over stabbing murder

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found stabbed to death in a house on Tyneside.

The body of Nicola Morrin, 26, was found at a house in Bramwell Court, Gosforth, near Newcastle, in the early hours of Wednesday.

Stephen Newton, 36, of Kirkston Avenue, in Lemington, Newcastle, was arrested at the scene and was charged with murder on Saturday, police said.

A post-mortem examination revealed Ms Morrin died from several stab wounds.
