Third indecent assault in a week

Police
It is too early to say if the attacks are linked

An indecent assault in Londonderry is the third such attack in the area in a week.

On Wednesday morning, a man approached a woman walking along Ballyarnet Road and indecently assaulted her.

It follows an indecent assault on a woman in Ballyarnet Road on 8 May, and another an hour later in nearby Cornshell Fields.

A spokesperson from the PSNI said it was too early to tell if the attacks were linked.

PSNI Area Commander Chris Yates said the PSNI were investigating the incidents.

"This is very much an ongoing investigation and I would appeal for the public to continue to assist us in whatever way possible.

"Information you have may appear insignificant but could be vital to the investigating officers.

"There is no denying that these incidents have been traumatic for those involved and we are keen to identify the persons involved as quickly as possible," he said.
