A County Tyrone man is in a critical condition after a crash at a motorcycle road race in north County Dublin.

The 70-year-old man from Cookstown was a spectator at the Skerries 100 on Saturday when two motorbikes crashed near him and engulfed him in flames.

He was taken to a nearby hospital but was transferred to a specialist burns unit at St James Hospital in the city.

One biker suffered a broken collar bone while the other escaped with minor injuries.

The crash happened on the second lap of the grand final shortly before 1700 BST.
