Police appeal for missing friends

Police are appealing for information to try to find two teenage girls who have gone missing.

Jodie Thomas, 14, from Abertridwr, Caerphilly, and Helydd Jones, 15, from Lansbury Park in the town, have not been seen since Thursday.

Gwent Police say the pair are friends and are believed to be together, possibly in Aberdare or Cardiff.

Anyone with any information about the girls or their whereabouts is asked to contact officers.

Jodie was last seen at approximately 1310 GMT on Thursday at her home.

She is described as white, 5'7" (1.70m) tall, of a slim build, with shoulder length hair dyed purple and blonde.

She was last seen wearing grey trousers, a white polo shirt with a swan emblem on it and black trainers with pink laces. She was also carrying a red and black Umbro rucksack.

Jodie has a stud piercing just above her lip on the right hand side and another piercing on her bottom lip but does not wear a stud or ring in this. She also has a piercing in her left ear lobe.

Helydd was last seen catching the bus to school at 1015 GMT on Thursday.

She is described as white, 5' (1.52m) tall, of a medium build with dyed black shoulder length hair.

She was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt with a yellow logo, black trousers and black shoes however it's believed she may have changed her clothes.

She typically carries a pink rucksack.
