Man dies four days after attack

Police have begun a murder inquiry into the death of a man four days after he was attacked in Salford.

Gary White, 33, of no fixed address, was attacked in what Greater Manchester Police say was a "domestic incident" last Thursday.

He was attacked outside a house at Fir Street and then again on Elm Street.

Police said Mr White's death was an "isolated incident", but are appealing for witnesses. A 22-year-year-old woman has been arrested.

Mr White had discharged himself from hospital on Saturday but his condition worsened and the next day he was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral, where he died.
