I love flying down the pool!

A person swimming

Press Packer Elizabeth loves swimming and here she tells us why it's such an important sport to her.

"My favourite sport is swimming.

I like it because it's fun and energetic and it can even save lives.

Ocean study
Elizabeth hopes to study marine life

When I grow up I want to be a marine biologist, so swimming is very important to me.

Marine biology is the study of sea and ocean life, for example fish and dolphins.

I started to swim when I was seven years old and I have been going to the swimming pool ever since.

I have my 50 metre badge and I am in the advanced improvers class.

My favourite stroke is the front crawl and my least favourite is the back crawl.

Flying through water

Swimming is great fun and it keeps you fit and active.

My advice to anyone who wants to get into swimming is to keep going to the pool regularly - you will build up enough confidence to do a little more each time.

And you'll soon be flying up and down the pool!"

Why don't you write us a Press Pack report - and get it published on the site?!

It can be about anything that's happened in your local area - or your views on the news.
