Zidane promises better
Zinedine Zidane
Real's Zidane would have liked more rest
Zinedine Zidane, the world's most expensive footballer, has vowed to come into form for the start of Real Madrid's season.

Zidane moved to the Bernabeu from Italian club Juventus in a record £45m deal during the summer but has started his Real career slowly.

The playmaker showed signs of improvement when he turned out for France against Denmark and he says he will be ready for the start of Real's campaign for domestic and European glory.

It will work out gradually - I'm not worried
Zinedine Zidane

"As far as I'm concerned, I felt better and better as the match went on," said Zidane following the 1-0 victory over Denmark.

"But of course, in two weeks, for the start of the competitive season, I will be much better."

Before the game Zidane stated :"I would have liked to have more rest, especially mentally.

"In Madrid, there is a lot of pressure but I came to play football and it won't last or life will become impossible."

He added: "Physically, I'm at about 60 percent of my potential, and that's normal.

"I'm settling in and there is no cohesion yet with Raul and (Luis) Figo but it will work out gradually, I'm not worried."
