Jones: We still fear England
England must re-group after their Dublin defeat
Australia's coach has heaped praise on England despite Saturday's Six Nations loss to Ireland.
Eddie Jones delivered the boost to Clive Woodward's team just 48 hours after they crashed to a 20-14 defeat at Landsdowne Road. The loss meant England missed out on the Grand Slam for the third year in a row. But Jones said: "It take away from the fact that they are the best performing side in world rugby over the last 12 months.
"The stats showed that Ireland won the game but England still did a lot of things right.
"They are one of the best attacking sides in world rugby, with great individuals and a good structure. "They are co-ordinated and coherent and there are a number of areas in their game which we are worried about. "Against Ireland, England started confidently, moving the ball from side to side but things went Ireland's way. Encouraging "They did things well and got the flow of the game and it is very hard to wrest that from a side playing at home. "It is a result we don't put much store by for our own game with England." Jones offered his verdict on Monday at London's Imperial College as he prepared Australia for the first training session of their European tour.
It will be the first time the sides have met since England's 22-19 victory over the Wallabies a year ago. Since then Australia, the world champions, have beaten the British and Irish Lions in the summer series, and retained their Tri-Nations crown. But Jones and his men will be desperate to avenge that Twickenham defeat. "I'm really looking forward to the tour. I'm a great admirer of England. "They have created an attacking structure which is very clever and it is a great challenge for us," said Jones. Australia also play France (17 November) and Wales (25 November) before finishing their tour against the Barbarians at Cardiff (28 November).
