FRIENDS PROVIDENT TROPHY, STORMONT Ireland 212-6 bt Warwickshire 211-7 by four wickets
Ireland captain William Porterfield led from the front in the Friends Provident Trophy as his side secured a first victory against a county in two years.
The 23-year-old anchored the innings at Stormont with 69 as the hosts reached their target with four wickets in hand.
Tony Frost's late-order 56 from 67 balls under-pinned Warwickshire's 211-7, but it rarely looked enough.
And Porterfield's gusty 110-ball knock led Ireland home to continue the Bears' poor Friends Provident Trophy form.
Victory was sealed in emphatic fashion with more than three overs remaining, as Kevin O'Brien hit the second of two big sixes.
Ashley Giles' Bears are still to taste victory in five Friends Provident Trophy games this season, having suffered four defeats and a wash-out.
They now travel to Trent Bridge on Sunday to face unbeaten Nottinghamshire.
