Egypt's teenage international striker Ahmed "Mido" Hossam has not been dropped from Dutch club Ajax, the club said.

It said Mido will remain first team squad despite a training ground bust-up with coach Ronald Koeman.

The striker was in Cairo, having left Amsterdam on Saturday, after a fall-out with Koeman in the morning.

He missed Sunday's top of the first division clash with rivals Feyenoord.

The match finished 1-1.

Team sport

Mido, third in line behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nikos Machlas for a striker's berth, is unhappy at the lack of first-team opportunities.

But Koeman is unhappy with the 19-year-old's attitude.

"Football is a team sport, that's all I want to say about this," said Koeman.

The club said the forward will resume training with the Ajax first-team squad.

Mido, as he is popularly known, played for Egypt at the African Nations Cup in Mali.
