Mido reconciles with Egypt coach
Mido confronts coach Hassan Shehata during their row on Tuesday
Mido has since apologised to Egypt coach Hassan Shehata
Egypt striker Mido has reconciled with coach Hassan Shehata after their furious row during the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations on Tuesday.

Mido was substituted during Egypt's 2-1 win over Senegal and had to be dragged away from a confrontation with Shehata.

Mido, 22, was thrown out of the squad and banned from playing for Egypt for six months, but he shook hands with Shehata at training on Thursday.

Mido could watch Friday's final against Ivory Coast from the Egypt bench.

However, the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur striker will play no part in the game, with goalscoring hero Amr Zaki set to start the game in his place.

Mido apologised for his actions, telling an Egyptian television channel he "made a mistake" and would "accept the punishment".

He added: "I want to apologize to all the fans and to my coach and I hope that nobody is still upset with me."

Shehata said he has put the matter behind him and is focussed on beating the Ivory Coast to lift Africa's most prized trophy on Friday.

"I do not want to talk too much about this subject, because Mido is like my son.

"He came to the pitch and shook hands with me and the other players, so things are okay now.

"When he looks at the television pictures, he will be angry at himself for what he did.

"He may be on the bench with us as a friend. But I do not think that he will play in the final."
