The BBC's weekly round up of all the African goal scorers across the top leagues in Europe.

Nigeria's Osaze Odemwingie scored on his West Brom debut

Nigeria striker Osaze Odemwingie had the best possible start to his career in the English Premier League.

The 29-year-old scored on his debut for West Bromwich Albion to give them a 1-0 victory over Sunderland.

Marouane Chamakh scored his first goal for Arsenal after striking the final goal against Blackpool who were thrashed 6-0.

Ivory Coast striker Salomon Kalou came on as a substitute to score twice for Chelsea in the 6-0 win over Wigan.

Mali striker Mamady Sidibe could be out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious Achilles injury in Stoke's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.


The Bundesliga kicked off in Germany at the weekend and Senegal striker Demba Ba scored the first goal for Hoffenheim as they fought back from 1-0 down to beat Werder Bremen 4-1.

Another Senegalese striker Papiss Demba put Freiburg 1-0 up with 12 minutes remaining, but newly promoted Saint Pauli fought back to score three more goals to win 3-1.

Cameroon striker Mahamadou Idrissou scored the equaliser for his new side Borussia Monchengladbach as they drew 1-1 with Nuremberg.

Ivory Coast striker Didier Ya Konan struck the winner for Hannover 96 in their 2-1 defeat of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tunisia striker Sami Allagui, playing in his first Bundesliga game, scored the opening goal for Mainz who beat Stuttgart 2-0.

French champions Marseille have finally won a game after two defeats, beating Lorient 2-0.

Nigeria defender Taye Taiwo scored the second goal.

Gabon striker Pierre Aubameyang put Monaco 2-0 up against Lens, but the hosts came back to secure a 2-2 draw.

Cameroon midfielder Jean Makoun scored the only goal of the game against Brest to give Lyon their first win of the season.

Cameroon striker Paul Alo'o Efoulou earned visiting Nancy a point at Nice after equalising with just four minutes to go.

Ivory Coast midfielder Emerse Fae had given Nice a first-half lead.

Nancy played the final four minutes of the game with just 10 men after Cameroon's Landry N'guemo was sent off.

Ivory Coast striker Franck Dja Djedje pulled a goal back for promoted Arles but it was not enough as they lost 2-1 to Toulouse.


Ghana striker Matthew Amoah scored his third goal in three successive games.

Despite scoring in the very first minute for NAC Breda, the 29-year-old saw his side lose 3-1 to Heerenveen.

Morocco striker Mounir El Hamdaoui took his tally to four goals in three games after scoring twice for Ajax who beat Roda 3-0.


The Super Cup was wrapped up as Barcelona reversed their 3-1 first leg defeat to beat Sevilla 4-0 Saturday.

Frederic Kanoute, who scored twice in the first-leg, did not play but Ivorians Romaric Ndri and Didier Zokora both turned out for Sevilla.

Seydou Keita, the Mali midfielder, played the entire game for Barcelona who ran out 5-3 aggregate winners.

La Liga will resume this weekend.


Samuel Eto'o scored twice to help Inter Milan lift the Italian Super Cup on Saturday.

The Cameroonian striker scored both goals in the last 20 minutes as the Italian champions came from behind to beat AS Roma 3-1.

The Serie A season will start this weekend.

Senegal striker Ibrahim Sidibe scored in the second minute for St Truiden who held on to beat Standard Liege 1-0.

Central African Republic star Mahamadou Habibou opened the score for Zulte-Waregem who handsomely dismissed Cercle Bruges 4-0.

Morocco striker Mbark Boussoufa scored his third goal in four games from the penalty spot as Anderlecht overcame Lokeren 3-0.

Cameroonian midfielder Roudolfe Douala scored a late goal for Lierse, but it had no impact on the final result which was a 2-1 home defeat to Kortrijk.

Ivory Coast midfielder Alioune Yaya Soumahoro equalised before half-time to help his side Gent come back from a goal down to beat Charleroi 3-1.

Guinea defender Ibrahima Sory Camara scored an own goal as his newly promoted side Eupen went down 4-1 at home to Genk.


There was a thrilling finale to the match between Academica and Olhanense with both sides scoring in injury time.

The game finished 1-1 with Cameroon striker Jean-Paul Yontcha on target with a 94th minute equaliser for visitors Olhanense.
