Cambridge hauled themselves away from the relegation zone with a vital win.

Stephen Smith rifled home the winner from fully 25 yards 10 minutes from time with a low drive that gave goalkeeper Michael Poke no chance.

Woking dominated early on, with Chris Sharpling shooting wide from 12 yards and Tom Hutchinson heading wide.

Courtney Pitt and Michael Morrison both squandered chances for Cambridge before Smith stepped forward with the goal that claimed three priceless points.
