FA Trophy finalists Ebbsfleet took all three points after a smart performance gave them victory at Stonebridge Road.
In a one-sided first-half Ebbsfleet took the lead after 40 minutes when Chris McPhee slid the ball past Altrincham keeper Stuart Coburn.
The home side continued their domination in the second period and doubled their advantage when Stacy Long hammered high into the top corner.
The Fleet also came close to scoring late on through a Luke Moore shot.
