Beckenbauer, right, has backed Blatter's re-election campaign

Sepp Blatter has confirmed to the Fifa Congress that he intends to seek re-election as president in 2007.
The 70-year-old Swiss first took over in 1998, before winning re-election in 2002 despite allegations of financial irregularities and vote-buying.
And he intends to run for a third term, with the backing of Franz Beckenbauer.
Beckenbauer, a World Cup winner as a player and coach, has been touted as a future president but said recently that Blatter should be re-elected next year.
