McConnell is handed 12-match ban

Graham McConnell

Larne manager Graham McConnell has been handed a 12-match ban to take effect from the start of next season.

The Inver Park boss was hit with an eight-game suspension after being sent from the dugout in the 4-3 defeat to Donegal Celtic at Suffolk Road.

McConnell was also dismissed in a league clash with Lisburn Distillery a week earlier, an offence that warranted an automatic four-match ban.

Larne will play in the Intermediate League from next August.

Goalkeeper Chris Keenan has been put on the transfer list by Larne manager Graham McConnell.

McConnell suspended Keenan for two weeks ahead of Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Cliftonville but a further indiscretion has led to him being made available.

The 21-year-old's absence has opened the door for Alex Spackman, who is now in his second spell with the club.

Spackman produced a fine display against the Reds and is set to face Armagh City at Holm Park on Saturday.
