Boss Grant to make Milk Cup draw

Avram Grant will make the draw for the 2008 Milk Cup

Chelsea manager Avram Grant will be in Belfast on Tuesday to make the draw for this summer's Northern Ireland Milk Cup youth football tournament.

Grant is likely to be accompanied by County Antrim man Brendan Rodgers, now reserve team coach at the club.

"We are delighted, and indebted to Mr Grant for paying us such an honour," said tournament chief Victor Leonard.

The Milk Cup starts on Monday, 28 July with finals night in all three age sections on Friday, 1 August.

Leonard revealed that Rodgers, who hails from Carnlough, had been the key player in arranging the trip.

"Brendan brought Arjen Robben and Mikael Forssell to the draw three years ago when they were with Chelsea and has been instrumental in securing the club's appearance at the tournament since then," he added.

The draw takes place at W5 in the Odyssey Complex.
