NI U23 v Rep of Ireland U23 (Tue)

Linfield manager David Jeffrey
David Jeffrey's NI U23 side lost their opening game in Belgium

Northern Ireland appear to have a clean bill of health for Tuesday's Under-23 game against the Republic of Ireland at Mourneview Park (1945 BST).

The Northern Ireland squad is made up of Carnegie Irish Premier League players while Eircom League personnel will be on duty for the Republic.

Pat Fenlon's Republic beat Slovakia in their opener in November while David Jeffrey's side lost 2-1 in Belgium.

Ian Bermingham of UCD and Bray's Derek Pender are late Republic call-ups.

The duo were drafted in after Joseph O'Cearuill (St. Patrick's Athletic), Stephen O'Donnell (Bohemians) and Seamus Coleman (Sligo Rovers) were unable to link up with the panel because of injuries.

The Republic squad includes Derry City midfielder Ruairdhi Higgins.

Linfield boast four players in the Northern Ireland U23 panel.

League and cup winners Kris Lindsay, Jamie Mulgrew, Thomas Stewart and Peter Thompson are in the panel while Glentoran's David Scullion, Sean Ward and Darren Boyce are also included.

Cliftonville's Barry Holland and Dungannon Swifts' Mark McAllister missed David Jeffrey's squad opening training session last week but both should be fit for Tuesday's game.

Group A consists of trophy holders England, Finland, Wales and Italy and the group winners will meet in the final in February 2009.

Belgium currently lead the table with four points from two games after they also drew against Slovakia.

The Republic have three points after their win over Slovakia, who have one point from two games.

Northern Ireland prop up the table after losing their opener.

New Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni will attend Tuesday's game.
