Queen of the South secured a place in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals
Queen of the South secured a place in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals
Goals from Sean O'Connor and John Stewart sealed a Scottish Cup triumph for Queen of the South at Cappielow.

Stevie Tosh had an effort cleared off the line for the visitors, while Queens keeper Jamie McDonald made a good stop from Peter Weatherson.

A minute into the second half, Sean O'Connor rose highest to head home a Bob Harris corner kick.

Late in the game, Ryan McCann cut open the home defence and John Stewart applied a neat shot to settle the tie.

"It was an old fashioned cup tie - very competitive," Doonhamers boss Gordon Chisholm told BBC Sport.

"It's always tough at Cappielow and Morton were out for revenge for our two victories here earlier.

"But we conjured up two great finishes to win the game."
