Bob Wilson rates the Gunners
Marks out of 10 for the Arsenal squad
By Bob Wilson
Former Arsenal goalkeeper

Jens Lehmann: He may have had a few problems in the Champions League but he has been exceptional in the Premiership. He is the most adventurous keeper in the league - no other keeper takes crosses in as much quantity as him.

Ashley Cole: He has shown incredible consistency, despite the fact that he has been under huge pressure from Gael Clichy. We have always known about his attacking qualities, but I believe he has become a much better defender this season.

Sol Campbell: Sol is the best defender in Britain and the rock on which the Arsenal defence is built. Toure, Lauren and Cole depend on him for their positional sense.

Kolo Toure: He has been the biggest surprise to me. I knew he was a great athlete but I didn't know he could be quite such a outstanding defender. He's had a fantastic season and I think he can only get better.

Lauren: Like Cole at left-back, Lauren has been very consistent and has also become a better defender this season. He is fabulous to watch moving forward, but he is also showing the benefit of experience.

Robert Pires: When he's at his best, he makes the whole team tick. Arsenal are untouchable when Robert is on song. He is one of the best passers and receivers of a ball in the world.

Patrick Vieira: He has shown great leadership - it is not easy following Tony Adams and he has done that. At his best he is the best midfielder of his type in the world.

Edu: He has become one of my favourite players at Arsenal. He doesn't have lightning pace, but he is one of the most intelligent footballers I have come across. His ability to be available for others and to spot passes is fantastic.

Gilberto Silva: He is the unsung hero of the team, the piece of the jigsaw that makes it all fit together. His technique, as you would expect from a Brazilian, is superb.

Freddie Ljungberg: Because of injury, he has not been able to find the consistency he has shown in previous seasons, but his work-rate is extraordinary - probably better than any other player in the team.

Thierry Henry: He is the best player in the world at the moment - by a mile. Physically and performance-wise, he is just perfection. If there are any football fans who would not want to pay to watch him, they're mad.

Dennis Bergkamp: When things are not going well, I would always have him on the pitch because he can turn a game in an instant. In the Premiership match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, he produced one of the greatest passes I have ever seen for Vieira to equalise.

Jose Antonio Reyes: He is still learning and he is having do that on his feet but I think he has incredible potential.

Ray Parlour: Ray makes you keep faith in the British game. He plays with a group of world-class players, and he does not look out of place. Whenever Arsenal are in the mire, and the likes of Vieira and Pires are struggling, Ray has the ability to lift the crowd and the rest of the team.

Martin Keown: It has been a difficult season for him because he has been injured and his opportunities have been limited. But you know what you will get with him and when he's called upon, he will slot in and do a solid job.

Gael Clichy: The find of the season - and we still don't know whether he's best at left-back or left midfield. I would definitely pick him as Arsenal's young player of the year.

Kanu: It's impossible to judge because he has not had too many chances. I always feel comfortable when he comes on, that the team is not losing anything but gaining something.

Jeremie Aliadiere: He is still learning the game but this season he has demonstrated the potential that could make him a great player for Arsenal in the future.

Sylvain Wiltord: He is a terrific player but the ankle injury wrecked his season and he has not been able to get into the team too often.
