Carlisle delay stand improvements

Carlisle United's Brunton Park stadium
Brunton Park would need to be renovated for the Championship

Carlisle United managing director John Nixon has admitted there are no plans to begin ground improvements during the summer even if the club are promoted.

Championship clubs are given three years to acquire all-seater stadia but Nixon does not see a revamp of the venue as a priority at the moment.

He told BBC Radio Cumbria: "We haven't got a substantial plan for the stadium.

"We are spending a lot of money, up to £30,000 on the pitch because we have to remove the top surface and reseed it."
