Farsley Celtic help African team

Farsley Celtic have helped fund a new kit for a team in Africa.

Farsley's kit sponsor Sports Bulk Suppliers have donated a new home kit to the Golden Boys side in Gambia after owner Peter Smith asked for help.

The 45-year-old from Leeds paid just £10 to take over Golden Boys after meeting their players during a holiday in Gambia's Kotu resort.

"It's a fantastic gesture – the kit will come in incredibly handy," Smith told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Smith travels to the country twice a year to see how they are doing and at other times keeps up to date with their progress via emails.
