Frail has not had much to smile about this season
|
Caretaker boss Stephen Frail admits third place could be beyond Hearts after drawing 1-1 at St Mirren.
The Tynecastle side are three points off a top six place, with three matches remaining before the split.
Saulius Mikoliunas rescued a point for Hearts with a late equaliser but Frail said: "I'm not pleased with a point.
"Our aim is to end the season in the top six and with our result going against us today, Europe might be out of reach now."
Falkirk are the side in front of Hearts and the Bairns visit Tynecastle next weekend.
"We just need to stay focused for the next game against Falkirk and try to win that game," added Frail.
"When you consider we were second-bottom of the SPL at one stage we have to say that it's not been a successful season.
"We just have to knuckle down and get on with it."
