Huddersfield Town have appointed Mick Docherty as their new first-team coach.
The 57-year-old will again link up with boss Stan Ternant and his assistant Ronnie Jepson having worked with them at Burnley.
"The opportunity to join a club with so much history and potential is just too good to turn down," Docherty told the club's website.
"Stan and Ronnie are very experienced and it's exciting to be part of their plans to take the club forward."
Docherty, who is the eldest son of former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Tommy, was also Jepson's assistant at Gillingham before having a spell as caretaker boss.
His playing career included spells at Burnley, Manchester City and Sunderland, he also had a brief spell as manager of Hartlepool United.
