Relegated Scunthorpe United may give youth a chance in the last three games of the season as they prepare for life in League One.
United defender Andy Crosby is definitely out for the rest of the season with a knee problem.
The Iron manager Nigel Adkins told BBC Radio Humberside: "We want to win our last three games.
"We've got the likes of Joe Wilcox, Pete Winn and we might even introduce young Jake Picton who is a young YTS."
Scunthorpe were relegated after defeat at Leicester and Adkins admitted that the last few games of the season are all about preparing for League One football in August.
Meanwhile on-loan Sheffield United striker Geoff Horsfield will stay at Glanford Park until the end of the season according to Adkins.
He said: "With the loan players you sign a contract so the finances are still there, if you send them back you're still paying the wages.
"He's trained with us and he'll stay until the end of the season."
