Tranmere Rovers are to report pre-tax losses of just under £1m for the 2006-07 season at the club's annual meeting on Friday.
Chairman Lorraine Rogers has said that a reduction in transfer income is the major reason for the deficit.
Rovers received only £31,000 in transfer fees last season compared to £1.6m the season before.
Improvements in commercial income led to a 9% increase in overall turnover to the year ended June 2007.
