Youth team players sign for York

York City

York City have signed three of their youth team players on full-time professional contracts.

Andy McWilliams, Liam Shepherd and Josh Radcliffe have all accepted offers from manager Colin Walker.

However a fourth player, centre-half Danny Stimpson has turned down a contract to take up an offer to play in Sweden instead.

The triple signing takes the number in York's first team squad up to 16 players for next season.

McWilliams, who plays either at left back or in midfield, played in five first team fixtures at the end of last season after joining city's centre of excellence in 2000.

York-born winger Shepherd was on the substitutes bench four times last year after also joining the club in 2000.

Centre-half Josh Radcliffe originally signed in 2004 and is still to make his first team debut.
