Hibernian Ladies won their fourth Scottish Cup in six years with three extra-time goals against Celtic.

Joelle Murray made the breakthrough with a well-placed volley, while Mandy Burns knocked in a cool chipped finish.

The Edinburgh side added to their lead when Suzanne Grant clipped home a clever shot from 16 yards.

Leanne Crichton stabbed the ball in from close range to give Celtic a glimmer of hope but Hibernian finished the stronger side.

In a cagey first half Celtic came closest when Clare Gemmill shot just over the crossbar on 19 minutes.

Favourites Hibs improved in the second half, with Laura Kennedy shooting over and Stacey Cook having a header well saved.

Hibs were well-organised throughout but without star player Kim Little, who has agreed a move to Arsenal Ladies, they lacked a creative spark.

Murray scored Hibs opening goal

Celtic's Joanne Love blasted just past the target late in the second half and Christie Murray saw her lobbed effort drift wide in extra time before Hibs struck.

The opening goal came when Murray kept her eye on a long ball, let it bounce, then smashed home an impressive angled shot.

Burns then capitalised on a poor clearance to race through and she finished with a calm dink.

In the second half of extra-time, Grant put the game beyond Celtic with a composed floated strike.

Celtic substitute Crichton replied immediately but a comeback never looked likely.

Hibs defender Cook was named player of the match but marred a good display with a glaring miss from just a few yards out.
