Proud Aussies not fazed by Brazil
Australia coach Guus Hiddink
Australia coach Guus Hiddink believes Brazil will need to improve their performances if they are to defend their world crown in Germany.

Despite qualifying for the last 16, the Brazilians were troubled by a spirited display from Australia in Munich.

"Brazil are not playing at their best and had great difficulties in the second half," said Hiddink.

"Even after this loss, morale is very high and we still hope to go through. The players are eager and ambitious."

Striker Mark Viduka admitted he was disappointed not to have come away with three points.

Viduka and fellow striker Harry Kewell both had excellent chances which just flew over goalkeeper Dida's crossbar in the second half.

"I thought we played well - on another day it could have been a different result," said Viduka.

"We had a few chances we could have put away, but it was a great display by the boys. We gave them a good match."

Australia need at least a point from their final Group F match against Croatia on Thursday to qualify for the last 16.

"We pretty much knew before the tournament that it would come down to the Croatia game so now we are looking forward to it, we are in a good situation going into the game," said defender Scott Chipperfield.

"We'll be going out to win it, that's our style.

"It's important that we play the same way that we did in the last two games, if we do that I think it will be good enough."
