Red Bull are expected eventually to emerge as a major force, but it is taking longer than some thought.

When a team recruit star designer Adrian Newey on a multi-million pound retainer, great things are expected.

But Red Bull took too many risks with last year's car, and ended up with major reliability problems.

Those look to have been largely solved for 2008, but the car's pace is still short of the ambitions of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz.
