German Adrian Sutil is the latest in a long line of drivers hoping to impress in Formula One by making a debut for a back-of-the-grid team.

Sutil clearly has pedigree - he arrived in F1 after winning the competitive Japanese Formula Three championship.

And he demonstrated plenty of potential in 2007, not least when he set a genuine fastest time of all in a wet practice session at Monaco.

He made a lot of mistakes, but the ability to shine seems to be there.
