At 12.45pm, the riders take their horses to the warm-up area.
"At this point it's more about the horse, making sure everything is as perfect as it could be for him," says Daniel.
"The horses get into a routine. In the morning they know they can have a bit of a play, but when it comes down to it they know it's time to do their job."
Daniel is up against 18 other riders aged 21 and under in a class for less experienced horses. The bookies make him 4-1 second favourite.
