In 2008, Daniel will start to compete more at senior level as he tries to enhance his chances of an Olympic call-up for 2012.
Much will depend on whether he can find the right horse. Olympic-quality horses change hands for more than £1m, but every victory increases a rider's chances of finding the right backer.
"He's a class act," says British junior team manager Mike Florence. "He just needs the help and the backing.
"He's got the X-factor. He has to find a horse, but if I had to draw up a list for 2012 now, he'd be on it."
