British show jumping's rising star Daniel Neilson spent most of February in the south of France, where he ruffled a few feathers with some impressive displays against top riders
Neilson, who turned 18 during the show, finished as leading rider in the category for younger horses at Villeneuve-Loubet, winning the showpiece six-year-old final
Despite competing against a big field, Neilson also excelled in the category for older horses, winning four classes on his new horse Ionesco du Moulin
Neilson's grey mare High Tone Z was also on form, and the pair took second place in the Grand Prix class on the final day, just behind French international rider Roger Yves Bost
Neilson finished the show with a total of seven wins and 12 second-place finishes to strengthen his credentials as a potential star of the London 2012 Olympics
