Haywood has set a new British 100m breaststroke short course record

Lincolnshire swimmers Lizzie Simmonds, Kate Haywood and Mel Marshall have set new British records at the World Short Course Championships in Manchester.
Simmonds broke the 200m backstroke record by almost a quarter of a second, with a time of 2:04.21 in the heats.
In the 100m breaststroke Haywood's time of 1:06.08 was almost half a second inside Kirsty Balfour's 2001 record.
Marshall was a member of the 4x100m medley relay team which smashed the previous best by almost four seconds.
The quartet of Marshall, Balfour, Ellen Gandy and Caitlin McClatchey broke the four minute barrier with a time of 3:59.80.
But one former Lincolnshire swimmer has seen his long-standing record surpassed, with Scottish swimmer Robbie Renwick knocking 0.04s off Olympic silver medallist Paul Palmer's 400m freestyle record which he set in March 2000.
