Burger a doubt for visit of Wales

Schalk Burger
Burger may miss his country's first Test with Wales on 7 June

Springboks flanker Schalk Burger could miss Wales' two-Test tour of South Africa after injuring knee ligaments.

The 25-year-old was hurt playing for the Stormers in their Super 14 victory over Otago Highlanders.

Stormers coach Rassie Erasmus confirmed the extent of the injury to the World Cup-winning forward, saying: "Schalk will be out for at least six weeks."

Grand Slam champions Wales take on world champions South Africa on 7 and 14 June in Bloemfontein and Pretoria.

However, the rejuvenated Welsh side will face a tough task if they are to maintain their 100% record under New Zealander Warren Gatland as they are yet to win a Test in South Africa.
