Bristol have signed Samoan centre Junior Fatialofa from National League One club Exeter Chiefs.
The 27-year-old has spent the last four seasons in Devon but will move to Bristol in the close season.
Bristol head coach Richard Hill said:
"He has been a very fine player now for several seasons in League One.
"He is a very physical player who has that typical Islander approach to defence but is also capable of punching big holes through midfield."
Hill added: "We feel that he is more than capable of making the step up to Premiership level."
Hill has carved a reputation for making successful signings from English rugby's lower divisions with his Bristol recruits including the likes of Shaun Perry, Dan Ward-Smith plus Luke and Tom Arscott.
