Newcastle Falcons wing Tom May is confident they can end the season on a high ahead of Wednesday's visit of London Wasps to Kingston Park.

"We know we can perform. It's just getting or understanding what it takes for us to reproduce that every week," he told BBC Radio Newcastle.

"We've changed the way we play and the Leicester game was the first time we put everything from training together.

"We understand what Wasps will bring but we're confident about our game."

May has also backed interim coach Steve Bates' and the club's decision to part company with England pair of Mathew Tait and Toby Flood.

"We've a very progressive club, from the outside we might now look like we're moving quickly but things take time," said May.

"We've just got to accept that people will move on and we've got to deal with that. We're looking forward to building towards next season."
