Gay and Powell to race in London
London Grand Prix: 25-27 July, Crystal Palace
Live coverage on BBC TV and the BBC website
Tyson Gay will continue his Olympic preparations in a clash with Jamaican Asafa Powell at the London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on 25 July.
The world 100m champion sealed a place in the US team with the fastest ever 100m - 9.68 seconds - but it was not a record as it was wind assisted.
"Crystal Palace is a fast track and Asafa is a great opponent so I'm sure we'll give fans a great race," he said.
Kelly Sotherton and Phillips Idowu are amongst the Britons at the meeting.
Gay is confident he can continue his stunning form and hone his performances ahead of the Beijing Games, which begin on 8 August.
"I've met my first goal, of making the US 100m team for Beijing," he said.
"I had begun to believe that I had those sorts of times within me, and now that I know what it feels like I am ready to keep going."
For the British athletes, including Nicola Sanders and Christine Ohuruogu, it will be the final event before they head out to the Far East.
