England women 'must forget Ashes'

England captain Charlotte Edwards

Kent and England women's cricket captain Charlotte Edwards has urged her side to forget their Ashes triumph and focus on finishing the job Down Under.

England retained the Ashes with a six wicket win over Australia and now face New Zealand in a one-day series.

"I've sat down with the girls and pretty much told them we have to re-focus," said Edwards.

"Although the Ashes was brilliant, everyone will forget about that if we don't win here."

"We want to come back from the tour having had the most successful women's tour everyone's ever been part of," the 28-year-old told BBC Radio Kent.

"If we win out here it will be a really truly memorable trip and when we come back it'll be a really really great feeling."
