Wycombe 1-1 Stockport

Delroy Facey

Stephen Gleeson scored with a 25-yard volley to put Stockport on level terms with Wycombe after their League Two play-off semi-final, first leg.

Stockport's Anthony Pilkington was denied the opening goal when his header was saved superbly by Frank Fielding.

Ten minutes later County conceded after keeper John Ruddy's awful kick let in Delroy Facey, who powered past two defenders to score with a low shot.

But on 83 minutes, Gleeson equalised with a sweetly-struck volley.

  • Wycombe boss Paul Lambert:
"Stockport's late goal doesn't change a thing. We are right in the game. We will go up there and try to win.

"I am over the moon with the lads - they were colossal. They have been terrific against a decent side.

"The onus is on Stockport to attack us now and we are sometimes a better counter attacking team.

"We will give every effort we can and we will be ready for them."

  • Stockport boss Jim Gannon:
"We were fortunate because there were one or two challenges on our players which could have resulted in a serious injury.

"Tommy Rowe got clattered in an awful challenge and the referee has to protect the players more.

"If you want good, young players to develop and you want to see good football at this level then the referees must be stronger.

"If they don't then you will see more players in hospital."
