Barca warn Chelsea off Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard has told Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich that his millions will not be able to lure Ronaldinho to Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old Brazilian scored for Barca in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea that put his side in the last-eight of the Champions League.

Rijkaard said: "Ronaldinho is very happy at Barcelona.

"He has so many friends and people who love him. Money is not the most important thing for him right now."

Ronaldinho cost Barcelona £21m when he moved to the Nou Camp from Paris St Germain in 2003.

He helped Barca win the 2005 Spanish title and they are 10 points clear at the top of the table this season.

The reigning European and World Footballer of the Year is contracted to Barca until 2010 and has an £85m buy-out clause in his contract.

Money is no object to Chelsea under Abramovich and they have already been linked with a move for Ronaldinho on several occasions.

But Rijkaard is confident he will stay in Catalonia.

The Barca boss added: "He wants to contribute to the things Barcelona can achieve.

"I was not surprised he was the difference against Chelsea.

"It was a special occasion with so much tension in the game and Ronnie's reaction was wonderful."
