Could five-a-side be for you?

Five-a-side

Five-a-side isn't just great fun, it's also a great way to work on vital skills like accurate passing, dribbling and ball control.

The rules are very similar to 11-a-side, but the pitches and goals are smaller and usually the ball must be passed along the ground.

So if you want to pick out a team-mate you'll need a quality pass - and if you want to get that ball you'll need the pace and quick thinking to shake off your marker.

Small-sided football is bigger than ever, and wherever you live it couldn't be easier to start playing.

ENGLAND

If you live in England, your local FA will have the info you need on five-a-side and other versions of small-sided football.

The FA website has a full list.

WALES

If you live in Wales, the FAW Trust wants to hear from you.

Their website has links to development offers across the country.

The link below will take you there. Click 'contact', and select 'regional officers'.

NORTHERN IRELAND

Five-a-side fans in Northern Ireland are never far away from some small-sided action.

SCOTLAND

If you live in Scotland, you could try futsal - a version of the game that's hugely popular in Europe, Asia and South America.

You can also play Soccer Sevens, which involves seven players per side. It's widely played in schools and is another great way to improve core skills, such as passing and ball control.

You'll find more information on the Scottish Football Association website.
