Wales Under-21 coach Brian Flynn

First-half goals from Tom Huddlestone and Theo Walcott saw England to victory over Wales at the Racecourse, Wrexham.

With senior managers John Toshack and Fabio Capello watching, Joe Hart denied Ched Evans and Sam Vokes early on.

Adam Johnson was brought down by Neal Eardley when he broke in from the left, Huddlestone converting the penalty.

Huddlestone then exchanged passes with Walcott from a short corner, Walcott cut inside from the left, and his shot was deflected in off Lewin Nyatanga.

The friendly game celebrated Wales U21's 100th match since their first game - against England in 1976.

Coach Brian Flynn's team had been unbeaten in four games and started the match with six players capped at senior level.

England - who started with five members of their senior squad - remain undefeated in 10 games at U21 level this season.
