Oswestry Town football club's proposed merger with Welsh Premier neighbours Total Network Solutions has been approved.
But getting permission from the Football Association of Wales was only the first hurdle, as the plan now requires the support of Oswestry Town's shareholders.
The hope is to build a modern super-stadium in Oswestry that will become a new home for the combined senior team.
Other teams - from first reserves down to pre-academy and tiny tots sides - will play and train out of both Park Hall and Treflan.
Next season, the first team will play an equal number of games in the two strips of white/green and blue.
TNS had complained at the original proposal to play all home games in blue and away matches in white/green.
Welshpool, who finished second from bottom, had hoped to avoid being relegated from the Welsh Premier along with Llanelli.
Neath will not be promoted because of inadequate facilities, and the Welsh Premier clubs voted in favour of Welshpool receiving a stay of execution.
But the FAW, which holds a 51% stake in the league, used its right of veto to end Welshpool's hopes.
Porthmadog, winners of the Cymru Alliance, have been accepted into the league in place of Llanelli.
