Cardle completes move to Airdrie

Airdrie United have completed the signing of former Port Vale midfielder Joe Cardle.

The 21-year-old, who came through the youth ranks at Vale Park, spent four months on loan at Clyde last season.

Manager Kenny Black told the club website: "I have been extremely impressed with Joe and I am delighted that he has agreed to join us.

"He is a very skilful young player and has fantastic pace. He can play either side and gives us great options."

Cardle was let go by Vale at the end of last season after not being offered a new deal.

Following his return from Clyde, Cardle made just four first team starts for Vale, plus five appearances from the bench.
