Arsenal thriving without Thierry

Manager Arsene Wenger reflected this week: "Two months ago I was 'crazy' not to buy players and we were not even rated in England's top seven."

Wenger brought in full-back Bacary Sagna and little-known Eduardo da Silva and put his faith in those already at the club.

Since, Emmanuel Adebayor has been liberated from the shadow of Henry and has scored six league goals, while Robin van Persie has scored seven in all competitions.

Admittedly, Eduardo has yet to shine. But after his two-goal performance against Slavia Prague, 18-year-old Theo Walcott looks ready to fulfil his potential.
