Clare quits Brewers for Rushden
Burton Albion striker Daryl Clare has joined Blue Square Premier rivals Rushden & Diamonds after turning down a new deal with the Brewers.
The Jersey-born 29-year-old, last season's top scorer, scored 48 goals in 99 games after joining in March 2006.
Midfielder Michael Simpson, and long-serving defenders Darren Stride and Aarron Webster have all signed new Albion contracts for next season.
Several more players are expected to agree terms in the next few days.
